Data Protection Policy

Last Updated: April 15, 2026  ·  GDPR Compliant

Summary

Strike GOAT is a fully local application. We do not process personal data on any server. All user data remains on the device. This policy explains your rights under GDPR and other applicable data protection laws.

1. Data Controller

The data controller responsible for the "Strike Like the GOAT!" mobile application is:

Alex Mitre

Email: vamosmexico2018.ahm@gmail.com

For any data protection inquiries or to exercise your rights, contact us at the email above.

2. Nature of Data Processing

Strike GOAT is designed as a privacy-first, fully offline application. The app functions entirely locally on your iPhone:

  • All camera and LiDAR processing occurs on-device using Apple's ARKit and Vision framework.
  • No personal data is transmitted to our servers — we do not operate any servers that receive user data.
  • Session data (scores, technique metrics) is stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework on your device only.
  • No registration, account, or personal information is required or requested.

Because we do not collect, process, or store personal data on any infrastructure we control, many standard data protection obligations (breach notification, data transfers, retention schedules) do not apply in the traditional sense. Your data controller, for the purposes of locally stored data, is effectively Apple Inc. via iOS system protections.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Article 6)

To the extent any processing of personal data occurs within the scope of our responsibility:

  • Article 6(1)(b) — Performance of a contract: The app analyzes your soccer technique as its core function. Camera and sensor access is strictly necessary to provide this service.
  • Article 6(1)(f) — Legitimate interests: Storing session history locally serves the user's legitimate interest in tracking their own progress.

No consent-based processing is performed. No processing for marketing, profiling, or advertising purposes takes place.

4. Categories of Data

The only data associated with your use of Strike GOAT is stored exclusively on your device:

Data TypeLocationPurpose
Session scores & metricsDevice (SwiftData)Progress tracking
User name & positionDevice (UserDefaults)Personalization
App preferencesDevice (UserDefaults)App configuration
Camera / LiDAR framesIn-memory onlyReal-time analysis (never saved)

5. Your Rights Under GDPR (Articles 15–22)

As a data subject, you have the following rights. Because all data is stored locally on your device, exercising these rights is primarily within your direct control:

Art. 15

Right of Access

All your data is on your device. Open the app's Settings to review session history and preferences.

Art. 16

Right to Rectification

Edit your name and preferences directly in the app's Settings.

Art. 17

Right to Erasure

Use Settings → Clear All Data within the app, or delete the app entirely. Both permanently remove all associated data.

Art. 18

Right to Restriction

You can stop using the app at any time. Data is only added when you actively use the app.

Art. 20

Right to Data Portability

Session data is stored in Apple's SwiftData format. It can be included in device backups via iCloud if you have backups enabled.

Art. 21

Right to Object

You may object to any processing by contacting us at vamosmexico2018.ahm@gmail.com. Given the local-only nature, we will clarify any concerns.

Art. 22

Automated Decision-Making

The app provides automated skill scores based on your technique. These are informational only and do not produce legal or significant effects.

6. Data Retention

Data stored on your device is retained for as long as the app is installed. You control retention entirely:

  • Delete individual sessions from within the app at any time.
  • Use Settings → Clear All Data to delete all session history.
  • Delete the app to permanently remove all data.

We do not hold any data on our servers, so there is no server-side retention to manage or request deletion from.

7. International Data Transfers

Because no personal data is transmitted to any server we control, there are no international data transfers to disclose. Your data never leaves your device through our application.

If you use iCloud backup, Apple may store device backups in data centers in various jurisdictions per Apple's own data protection terms. This is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours.

8. Security Measures

Your data is protected by the following security measures:

  • Device encryption: iOS encrypts data at rest when your device is locked (hardware-level AES encryption).
  • App sandboxing: iOS isolates app data so no other app can access Strike GOAT's local database.
  • Biometric access: If you use Face ID or Touch ID on your device, your data is protected by those mechanisms.
  • No network exposure: Data that never leaves your device cannot be intercepted in transit.

9. Data Protection Officer

Given the nature of Strike GOAT as an individual developer's application that does not process personal data at scale, we are not required to appoint a formal Data Protection Officer. For any data protection matters, contact:

Alex Mitre

Data Controller / Developer

vamosmexico2018.ahm@gmail.com

10. Right to Lodge a Complaint

If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the European Union, you may contact your local Data Protection Authority (DPA). A list of EU DPAs is available at: edpb.europa.eu

11. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Data Protection Policy to reflect changes in the app, applicable law, or our practices. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the most recent changes were made. Material changes will be communicated via an app update.
