Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need an iPhone Pro?

Strike GOAT uses the LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) scanner found exclusively on iPhone Pro models. The LiDAR sensor creates a precise 3D depth map of your environment 60 times per second, allowing the app to track your body position in three dimensions — not just a flat 2D silhouette. This depth data is essential for accurately measuring joint angles, balance shifts, and technique quality. Regular iPhones without LiDAR cannot provide this level of analysis. Compatible models: iPhone 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max and later Pro models.

How do I record a technique?

1. Open Strike GOAT and tap the Camera tab at the bottom of the screen. 2. Select the technique you want to practice from the technique selector (Ball Strike, Ball Control, Dribble, Header, or Shot). 3. Position your iPhone Pro so your full body is visible in the camera frame — prop it against something or use a tripod for best results. 4. Tap the record button and perform your technique. 5. The app analyzes each rep in real time and displays your score. 6. Tap stop when you're done to see your full session summary and AI coaching tips.

Why isn't the skeleton overlay showing?

The body tracking skeleton requires your full body to be visible in the camera frame. Common fixes: (1) Move back so your entire body from head to feet is in frame — at least 1.5–2 meters from the camera is usually ideal. (2) Ensure you have adequate lighting — avoid strong backlighting like a bright window behind you. (3) Wear form-fitting clothing so the Vision framework can distinguish body segments accurately. (4) Make sure you're in a reasonably uncluttered area. If the issue persists, try restarting the camera session by tapping Back and starting again.

Can I use Strike GOAT indoors?

Yes! Strike GOAT works indoors and outdoors. For best results indoors: use a room with good, even lighting (avoid very dark rooms or single bright spotlight conditions), ensure you have enough space to perform the technique properly, and make sure the LiDAR sensor has clear line-of-sight to your body (no glass or reflective surfaces directly between you and the camera). Outdoors in natural daylight typically gives the best tracking quality.

How do I delete my data?

You have two options: (1) Partial delete — open Strike GOAT, go to Settings (gear icon), and tap 'Clear All Data.' This removes all session history and resets the app. (2) Complete delete — delete the Strike GOAT app from your iPhone. This permanently removes the app and all associated data, including SwiftData sessions and UserDefaults preferences. Since all data is stored locally on your device, there is no server-side data to request deletion of.

Which techniques are supported?

Strike GOAT currently supports 5 soccer techniques: (1) Ball Strike — kicking the ball with power and accuracy; (2) Ball Control — first touch and ball reception; (3) Dribble — running with the ball under control; (4) Header — heading the ball; (5) Shot — shooting on goal. Each technique has its own dedicated scoring algorithm trained on the specific biomechanics of that movement. More techniques may be added in future updates.

What does the score mean?

Your score is a 0–100 rating of your technique quality for that rep. It is calculated from 5 sub-scores: Approach Angle, Contact Quality, Follow-Through, Balance, and Timing. The skill levels are: Beginner (0–20), Amateur (21–40), Pro (41–70), Elite (71–90), and GOAT (91–100). The score reflects execution quality relative to ideal biomechanics for that technique — not a comparison to other users.

Does the app require an internet connection?

No. Strike GOAT works completely offline. All analysis is performed on-device using Apple's ARKit and Vision framework. No internet connection is needed to record sessions, analyze technique, view progress, or read the technique library. The only time internet is used is to download the app from the App Store initially.

Is my camera footage saved or sent anywhere?

No. Camera frames are processed in real time by your device's processor and are never saved to storage or transmitted anywhere. What gets stored locally is only the derived data: skeletal joint scores, overall scores, and AI coaching text. No video or images of you are retained. Your training is completely private.

The app says my iOS version is not supported. What should I do?

Strike GOAT requires iOS 18.0 or later. Go to Settings → General → Software Update on your iPhone to update to the latest iOS version. If your device supports iOS 18 but the App Store still shows it as incompatible, ensure you have a qualifying iPhone Pro model with LiDAR.

The app is running slowly or freezing. How do I fix it?

LiDAR and Vision processing is intensive. Try: (1) Close other apps running in the background. (2) Make sure your iPhone is not in Low Power Mode (Settings → Battery). (3) Ensure your device is not overheating — let it cool down before a session. (4) Restart the app or your device. If problems persist, contact us with your iPhone model and iOS version.

Is Strike GOAT available in my language?

Strike GOAT is available in English, Spanish (Español), French (Français), Portuguese (Português), and Chinese (中文). The app automatically uses your device's language setting. To change language, go to iOS Settings → Strike GOAT → Language.
